Five (Months) is for Fun

Our sweet Caroline is now five months old and she is at the funnest stage. It's gotten so much easier. Easier to plan outings, easier to go out to eat, and just easier in general. I think having the hard months of a newborn are good for making the next stage seem easier when otherwise it might be overwhelming!

Fortunately, Caroline is a great sleeper. I credit this to our following Twelve Hoirs of Sleep by Twelve Weeks. It just worked for her!
She's slept 7 a.m. to 7 p.m. since 12 weeks and we've finally gotten nap time down. She's easy to take places and is laid back as long as it's not time to eat!

She's my little buddy and it just doesn't feel right if I go somewhere and she's not in the back seat!

She had her first taste of baby oatmeal on the eve of turning five months. She found the spoon more interesting than the food. After a couple of tries she's now getting some of it down!

And playdates are a new thing in our lives. This is C's first little friend, Hop. Their first playdates involved Jordan and I walking and talking. Now they can actually interact and it's so fun to watch!

At 5 months:

- You squeal/talk/coo all the time. You are so happy about life. Even the nursery workers at church say you are the happiest baby and smile at everyone the whole time.

- You're taking notice of the dogs and they are starting to show more interest in you too. Scout is very interested in your oatmeal.

- You've embraced tummy time and will play happily on your blanket in the living room for 15 minutes or so

- You love other babies. We go to the Bouncing Babies class at the library and you are fascinated by the other little ones - especially the crawlers.

- You've just outgrown in length your 3 month pajamas; and are in size 2 diapers

- You are easily distractable by a toy if you get fussy. Your favorite toy remains the cat the Blackards gave you for Christmas. I've named him Skunk.

- you eat 6 ounces at 7 am, 11 am, 3 pm and 6:30 pm. Clocks could accurately be set by your stomach! You let us know when it's time to eat!
