Fall Crafting

This morning my friend Jennie organized a little fall decorating get together and it was so much fun! We spent some time looking online for inspiration and hit up Michael's. I updated a basket I've had for a couple of years with some new flowers and berries but Jennie and Maggie were much more creative!

Jennie hot glued fall potpourri on a wicker wreath. It turned out really cute!

Maggie's picture here is upside down and I'm not sure why but it was really cute too. She made little rosettes out of burlap and then hot glued a little brown pearl in each.

I can't believe summer is over and fall is here. Although I'm really enjoying walking in the cooler weather!

Net's Visit

Net has been here visiting for the past few days and I have loved every single second! I just dropped her off at the airport and am missing her already! I had so much fun showing her Greenville - we spent one morning at Falls Park and then an afternoon at the Upcountry History Museum. She cooked for us and instructed me on what all I need to do in the yard. I'm so thankful for a wonderful visit and can't wait for her to come back!

Four for Friday

Somehow blogging has gotten put on the back burner this week so here's a catch-up!

1. On Labor Day Jennie and I visited the NC Apple Festival in Hendersonville, North Carolina. It was so fun! And there were tons of apples!

2. Afterwards, we went back to Jennie's and made an apple crisp with the Mutzu apples she bought at the festival. It was delicious and we watched Frozen (my first time - I had to see what all the fuss was about!). It really was cute but I can't figure out why Elsa is the one you hear about but the story is more about Anna?

3. Wednesday night we had a storm. Who needs a weather radio when you have Pepe in the bathtub at the first sound of bad weather? Poor thing. His look says, "Why are you taking my picture when you should be taking cover?" The power flickered, but fortunately came right back on!

4. Ryan was off on Thursday (yay!) and we had a fabulous day. And were so happy when Chandler and Julie stopped by -- they are both doing residencies in Jackson and were passing through on vacation! So fun to see them!

Happy Friday!

Chad and Kristen and their crew came for a visit this weekend and we had so much fun! Friday afternoon involved a very competitive game of putt-putt.

Then we all headed downtown to walk around and eat. They loved the bridge at Falls Park at night!

Saturday morning we headed to the farmer's market downtown and explored Main Street some more. The "Mice on Main" scavenger hunt was a big hit with Katelyn. There are nine little bronze mice statues and clues to the location of each one. We found seven and I have promised to send pictures of the final two when I find them!

We loved every second of their visit and can't wait for them to come back soon!
