My FIL aka Jack Bower

On Saturday afternoon, about 15 minutes after Doc and I left the drugstore in Hernando to head to Memphis, a little excitement happened. Doc's dad, Dennis, was robbed by a former Desoto County deputy with a loaded gun! This is the first time in his career as a pharmacist that he's been robbed while on-duty (his store has been robbed one other time but he wasn't there)!

We saw him Saturday night on our way out of town and he was very calm about the whole thing. Much more than we were - we both freaked out the whole way home that night!

Here are some of the news stories:

I love the, "It's a story of bravery in the face of danger. Although the police don't recommend doing what they did" on the WREG story and the way the reporter acts it out. Doesn't that sound like a 24 description of Jack Bower? In typical Dennis style, he said he didn't even see the "I have a gun" part of the note the woman handed them - he reads (like most pharmacists) prescriptions from the bottom up and when he got to the "give me all your hydocodone" he knew that something was up!

We are very proud of "D" and so thankful that he is okay - his guardian angel was definitely watching over him on Saturday!
