Family Reunion

This weekend we went to my mom's family's reunion at Petit Jean State Park in Arkansas. It was a long drive for a short weekend but we had a great time. Thomas and Laura rode with us and it definitely made the six hour drive more fun!

We've been gathering every other summer since 1987 and I think I've only missed two of the twelve reunions.

On Saturday morning we did our traditionally hike to the waterfall. The weather was hotter than it's ever been and gave new meaning to the thought of what goes down, must also go back up!

My sweet parents!

After the hike to the waterfall, we had a picnic in the park and watched the younger cousins (along with Thomas and Coleman) play waffle ball. It looked like too much running around for me.

That night we had our annual talent show after supper. Papa Carrel, Aunt Betty and Aunt Joan told stories about growing up in Atlanta--Uncle Mark got it all on video. They all have such a good sense of humor. We stayed up too late talking on Saturday night and gathered for a devotional Sunday morning before everyone headed home.

And this sweet picture of my precious niece, Elizabeth Magee, from Easter--Aunt Sis has been a terrible blogger and hasn't updated since she was born! Isn't she beyond cute?
